Block 3 GE Study Questions

Answer any or all of these questions.

1. Prove that Magwitch is a central character of the novel. How does he function in the plot and how does he connect to the following themes/motifs?

  • Guilt
  • Criminality
  • Social Class
  • Pip's development and "expectations"

2. What is Jaggers' role in the novel?

3. How do Miss Havisham and Drummle illustrate the similarities between Pip and Estella?
